Future Cars May Not Have Traditional Speakers Instead Sound Vibration Technology

Sound Continental has developed an ac2ated speakerless audio system that provide acoustics using the car’s plastic interior trim panels.
Cars In the Future May Have Sound Vibration Technology Instead of Traditional Speakers
The Continental system replaces conventional speakers with actuators that vibrate certain surfaces in the vehicle to create sound. This lowers the weight, while reducing box volume and lowering electricity consumption.
The sound waves are generated by compact actuators, similar to the core of a conventional speaker. The transducers consist of a magnet and a coil, which produce micro-vibrations. However, instead of an oscillating membrane which is part of a current speaker, larger existing components and surfaces in the vehicle are excited by the transducers to emit sound.
Watch the video above for a more detailed look at how speakerless car audio works. Whether or not this technology will be reserved for high luxury automobiles or made available to consumer-based road cars will remain unknown.
