The first of its kind.
The folks over at sphere optics recently unveiled the (sphere) Pro lens which employs a toroidal design with the ability to capture a 360-degree horizontal and 180-degree vertical field of view. Being the first of its kind, the (sphere) lens is optically compatible with most existing camera systems and allows a full, omnidirectional view to be recorded by a single camera, whereas existing solutions either fail to capture the full vertical field or require multiple cameras to record separately. Additionally, the output of these solutions must subsequently be stitched together in software. With plans to release a (sphere) lens for Go Pros and mobile devices, head over to sphere optics now for more details on the 360-degree lenses.
