Following an abrupt recall.
GoPro recently issued a press release announcing its plans to relaunch the Karma drone sometime this year. Originally launched September of last year, the drone was abruptly recalled as some of the units released were falling out of the sky. 2016 was an unfortunate year for GoPro, as the company’s stock price dropped throughout the year and the GoPro was forced to lay off 15 percent of its staff after issuing the Karma recall. GoPro noted that the problem was a “mechanical issue related to securing the drone’s battery” and that they are working on the Karma to get it ready to hit shelves again. No official release date just yet, but stay tuned for more details as they become available.
