Official specs and release dates enclosed.

Earlier this March, leaked images surfaced online showcasing the highly-anticipated Galaxy S8 flagship smartphone. Now, Samsung finally premieres the device alongside its larger version, the S8 Plus. The standard S8 touts a 570ppi 5.8-inch screen while the Plus dominates with a 6.2-inch screen; both devices tout a resolution of 2960 x 1440. As far as their battery lives go, the S8 has a 3,000mAh battery and the S8 Plus has a more sizable 3,500mAh battery which is more or less the same one on the controversial Note 7. It’s important to note that Samsung “claims it has tweaked the battery chemistry to help the batteries last longer after a year or two of use,” The Verge reports. Hopefully, the revamped build constitutes both gizmos as explosion-proof.
One of the nice accessories that the new S8′s will come with are $99 USD AKG earbuds. Along with this nice audio add-on, the phones will be able to stream music to two headphones at once creating a brand new shared listening experience. All in all, Samsung did little to change the design on both phones as well as its camera specs. The one big change is their “infinity display” which wraps around their respective bodies. Not to mention, both phones are water and dust resistant; more specifically, they’re IP68 certified meaning they can be underwater for ostensibly half an hour.
Conclusively, devotees can look forward to the newly added software that features a virtual assistant dubbed Bixby which the Korean electronics giant says is presumably more comprehensive than rivaling voice assistants. Samsung Pass will let the owner shop, bank and surf the web with facial recognition while S Health keeps track of your vitals.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus are available for preorder on March 30 with an official stateside rollout on April 21. There is no word yet on the pricing, but sources profess that the standard S8 will go for approximately $750 USD.
